Ground beef is one of the least expensive ways to get nutrient dense, high-quality protein from red meat. Taco meat is one of my favorite ways to dress it up!
To make taco seasoning, mix:
- one part salt
- one part garlic powder
- one part black pepper
- two parts cumin
- four parts chili powder
Season ground beef while cooking over medium heat. Use about 2 teaspoons of seasoning per pound of ground beef. If you would like, depending on your carb limit, add about 1 tablespoon of tomato paste per pound of ground beef as well.
You can adjust the seasonings as desired. I often approximate the measurements.
Eat plain; with taco toppings like sour cream, cheese, green onions, salsa, and avocado; or make nachos with pork rinds!
